What an amazing venue for a wedding! Stowe School in Buckinghamshire a grade 1 listed building, was started by Sir Richard Temple in 1676 and took nearly a century to complete. It has featured in many famous movies including Indiana Jones and Stardust. An unusual wedding on the day included two ceremonies(one civil and one traditional Sri Lankan Buddhist ceremony). I have just got my hands on Nikon’s amazing new flash the SB900. This flash is great! I put it on my D700 and I am really happy with the results! Also to speed up the flash recycle times to superfast I have added a Quantum Turbo 2×2 battery pack to my equipment list. This flash and battery pack coupled with my Nikon D700 now gives me unlimited creativity, reliability and spontaneity when capturing once in a lifetime moments at weddings and events.
Had a great wedding here last week! Fanhams Hall in Hertfordshire is a jacobean manor house situated on the outskirts of Ware and is one of my favourite venues. The manor house is stunning and the gardens are a photographers paradise(the Japanese tea house is really interesting and photogenic). Things get even better when you have a really nice couple to photograph and a sunny day! If you would like to view the rest of the pictures from this wedding click on this link. This week I was lucky enough to get some time to visit Photovision at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire. As well as being a trade fair for photographers to view and update their equipment and supplies (I had a really good nose around the Apple, Graphistudio, Wacom and Nikon stands), it also hosted some great photographer seminars! I particularly enjoyed Uzair Kharawala’s talk as he is a big Nikon fan like me! Frank Doorhof talked about fashion and glamour lighting and Guy Gowan chatted about photoshop techniques. Big thanks to those guys for sharing their knowledge and expertise, it is always good to get new ideas and see the latest trends in the industry!
For the new wedding season this year I have updated my gear and I now have the new Nikon D700. This amazing camera is the perfect tool for the demands of wedding photography. It is strong and robust, the image colour is exceptional, it can take pictures in very dark conditions even with no flash and its full frame sensor is perfect for wide angle to close up shots. I can’t wait to try this camera at my next wedding!
